Warren Platner Custom Telephone Table

Warren Platner custom telephone table for Knoll International, USA, circa 1970. A rare example of Platner’s refined modernist design, this piece features a green leather-wrapped body on a chrome-plated steel pedestal base. The original telephone openings have been covered with a fitted Bakelite sheet, and the original plastic cradle piece is included should you wish to reinstall an AT&T Model 230 phone, which remains readily available. The side table retains its paper manufacturer’s label to the underside reading “Knoll International.” Some light wear to the chrome consistent with age and use. Versatile in function, it can also be used as a compact side table or an elegant entryway accent. A striking and uncommon vintage piece that captures the sculptural elegance and material sophistication of Warren Platner’s work for Knoll. Dimensions: 21.25 inches high, 12.25 inches wide, 12.5 inches deep.
